Library of Things

We have more than just books at the Library! Our inventory includes more than 100 unique lendable items, over 220 board games, and passes to local attractions. 

Board Games

If you're looking for entertainment without the tech, then try one of our many board games! We have classics like Monopoly and Scrabble, family games like Sorry! and Pachisi, children's games like Race to the Treasure and Hoot Owl Hoot, and complex games like Splendor and Ticket to Ride. Please note that board games are not holdable.

Museum Passes

Visit local museums and attractions and enjoy the best of what our surrounding communities have to offer. Available passes include Akron Art Museum, Akron Children's Museum, Akron Zoo, Hale Farm & Village, McKinley Presidential Library & Museum, and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Tech Lending

Watch your favorite movies and shows with streaming services paid for by the Library, borrow a hotspot for WiFi on the go, or skip the holds list on bestselling books with a pre-loaded Kindle. Call or visit the Adult Reference Desk for more information and reservations.

Instruments

Experience the joy of music-making by learning to play with our ukuleles and tuner. Or, take a step into the digital world with our MIDI keyboard!

Traffic Cones

Practice maneuverability in your own driveway with equipment generously donated by Lee's Automotive and Jill Gaba, State Farm Agent.

Outdoor Fun

Discover the wonders of the great outdoors while keeping an eye out for our feathered friends by using birding kits. Enhance your experience at the park by bringing pickleball paddles or disc golf equipment. Add some entertainment to your next get-together with a fun lawn game.

Crafting Equipment

Embark on a fresh D.I.Y. endeavor using tools such as a sewing machine, knitting needles, a papercraft kit, and other tools.

Kitchen Gadgets

Looking for some kitchen equipment to try out a new recipe? We've got you covered with cake pans, a dehydrator, and a dumpling steamer, among other things. Give them a try and elevate your cooking game!

Home & Garden Tools

Looking to save some money? Instead of buying, consider borrowing our tool kits for home maintenance, gardening, bike repair, and more!

Electronics

Begin your journey in creating new media with tools such as cameras, microphones, and drawing tablets. You can also relish older media by utilizing external CD drives, CD players, or SD card readers. On your next travel, consider taking a power converter, or borrow a sun lamp to assist in fighting the winter blues.

Memory Kits

Spark memories with these sets of relaxing activities. Memory kits are designed to be shared with caregivers and loved ones of people living with memory loss to reminisce, create meaningful interactions, and maintain skills. 

Policies

Patrons are limited to three Library of Things checkouts at one time. Based on item type, checkout is restricted to patrons living in our service area and the surrounding communities. Patrons must have an Equipment Loan Application on file when borrowing Library of Things items. Items that are returned to another library, in the book drop, or dirty will receive a $10 fine.
